FoodCycle is looking for food collection volunteers (unpaid) to collect and drop off food for our project in Exeter (Tuesdays)!
Without the amazing work of our thousands of volunteers across the country, FoodCycle simply wouldn’t be possible.
We are FoodCycle, and our vision is to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community. With community dining, week in, week out we feed the hungry and give company to the lonely in our communities; providing delicious meals and great conversation, and using food which would otherwise go to waste.
Do you have a couple of hours free on Tuesdays?
We're looking for volunteers who can join our team to collect food and drop it off at our meal at:
- The Mint Methodist Church, Fore St, Exeter EX4 3AT, before 4pm.
As a Food Collection volunteer you’ll play a vital part in making our community meals happen, by ensuring that your weekly FoodCycle session has a regular donation of food.
- You’ll pick up surplus food donations from our partner supermarkets and local retailers, ensuring a prompt, reliable and friendly collection each week
- You’ll then bring the surplus food back to your local Project venue and store it securely
- You don’t need to have any previous experience – you just need to be passionate about reducing the amount of food that’s wasted in our society!
- You will need access to a car and hold a full UK driving license, a road-worthy vehicle, up to date road tax, MOT certificate and fully comprehensive insurance.
Please apply online via our website, or email us directly with any questions at [email protected]
- Mileage can be claimed!
- Gain skills and experience for your CV, and meet lovely people
- No experience necessary
- Sign up for as many or as few sessions as you'd like.
FoodCycle volunteers must be aged over 18.
