Poltimore House is an amazing Grade II* listed building. Thousands of people have fallen in love with it during their first visit, and many keep coming back. The House and Grounds are owned by Poltimore House Trust, a charity which now has ambitious plans for its restoration as a focal point for the arts, business, communities, and wellbeing.

We’re building a team of people who are passionate about bringing Poltimore House back to life. As our plans develop, there is a rapidly growing need for new Trustees, Associates and Volunteers who can bring a wide range of expertise to our work.

Trustees are responsible for overall strategy and governance, but may also be involved in activities such as preparing grant applications or overseeing specific projects. Time commitment is flexible, but as a minimum it involves participation in Board or Committee meetings on average twice per month. We are particularly interested in people with expertise and experience in:

  • Business
  • Communication
  • Finance
  • Fundraising
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Heritage
  • Project Management.

Associates offer expertise and practical assistance in diverse fields including those above. Time commitment is flexible, and we are looking for people to deliver specific projects as well as those able to offer occasional support for helping to achieve our vision and objectives.

There are also numerous opportunities to join our team of Volunteers, helping to restore the House and Grounds and to work in our exciting new Branches Café. Our Volunteers have already made remarkable progress and will achieve even more significant improvements over the next three years.

Note that Poltimore House Trust is run entirely by volunteers and all posts are unremunerated. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact Dr Peter Totterdill, Trust Chair, for an informal chat (peter.totterdill@poltimore.org).
