We are looking to appoint new Trustees to support and promote voluntary and community services across the South Hams District.  South Hams Community Action is a registered charity supported by a number of funders.

The Board is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the organisation, and in all of our trustees we look for great interpersonal skills, integrity, sound independent judgment and decision making. Compassionate leadership and collaboration skills are essential, to provide oversight and governance support for the organisation, and to support our Chief Executive Officer and the staff team.

Our trustees serve on a voluntary basis, meeting about four times a year, with additional responsibilities on an ad hoc basis.

Ideally, candidates will have experience of operating within a board or committee structure, or a comparable role in a charitable, public sector or commercial organisation. We are currently especially looking for candidates with experience/expertise in human resources, health and safety, fundraising and communications.
