I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in November 2019 but had symptoms six months before seeing Dr Griggs who is a geriatrician.
I go to a class in Totnes every Monday morning for an hour. The exercises are about balance and avoiding falls. It is not a PD class. Last year, for a few months, I went to a PD excercises class in Plymouth run by physiotherapists working for the NHS and privately.
A few months ago, I, his wife and carer, took David to go to a new PK class with Ann George in Torquay. Recently he has not been well enough to go to both classes.
December 2023 David's memory has deteriorated. Recently he went out very early for a car ride without telling me, his carer. I did not hear any noise as I was sleeping. Last October he had a letter from the DVLA which stopped him from driving. He did not accept it or memorized it. When I woke up at 7.15am he was not to be seen and the car was missing. I had to call the Police. He came back home when two police men were talking to me outside the house around 8.15. Since then, he often says he has to go out late in the evening and I have to stop him from leaving. This afternoon, when I came back home after having been to a shop, he was outisde, trying to get to his car, saying he was going to a wedding. He had changed his clothes. I found it diffcult to make him come back to the house. Since then, there is a house key missing which I cannot find. Around 9pm he started again with the same story. He changed his clothes again and put on some boots he never usually wears to go out. As I wanted to stop him, he was very angry and started to shout at me. I would like to know what is the procedure to make him change his mind. I am getting worried about his behaviour.
